Greek Government Should Stop Communicating a Grexit and Start Planning the Next Day

A Grexit is more likely than anyone would think. It has been a real option for the government since day one. The current government has been gradually and very cleverly communicating this to the Greek people, either directly through ministers or indirectly through MPs and affiliated press. When it actually happens, it will not be a surprise to anyone. Contrary to the common belief that a Grexit is not in the government’s options as it would most probably mean the end of the current government, this might not be the case after all.

Εξάρτησε, ωστόσο, το χρόνο εκτέλεσης από τη νομική πολυπλοκότητα του ζητήματος, αλλά και την πολιτική διαπραγμάτευση και τη γνώμη της Βουλής.

With Negotiations Reaching an Impasse, a More Radical Approach is Needed to Solve the Greek Debt Crisis

In February, Greece agreed to a four month extension of its current bailout programme, subject to the approval of reform measures proposed by the Greek government. As yet, however, the country’s creditors have still not reached an agreement over the reforms which have been put forward. Tough negotiations ahead, the piecemeal approach which has so far been adopted by Eurozone governments during the crisis is becoming increasingly unsustainable.
